Day 1 of the KFF Singapore Badminton saw Team Singapore's athletes compete in back-to-back matches. Loh Kean Yew advanced to the round of 16 after beating Lu Guang Zu. Yeo Jia Min and Mixed Doubles pair Terry Hee and Tan Wei Han lost to their opponents and bowed out of the tournament.

Day 1 also saw world-class athletes such as world number 1, An Se Young, Malaysia's Pearly Tan and Thinaah Muralitharan as well as Anders Antonsen compete.
